Flu Shot

Flu Shot Finder

If you have read the title of this blog entry, you may be thinking, what does this have to do with real estate? Fair question. Directly? Not much, but I am choosing to operate on the seven degrees of separation type of thinking, so the thought of having to scrub down a house after contracting the flu counts as home related to me. Perhaps I should have written about the top disinfectants for your home, but that may come later. However, I digress.

I was watching the local news last night, and they advertised a resource that I thought may be of interest this flu season. They shared a website that serves as a Local Vaccine Finder. Why would I share such a thing? Well, in the case that you may be like me, one of the people who tend to bypass getting the flu shot because those are the only years you end up contracting the flu. However, this year’s flu strain has impacted more people at a higher rate than usual, so even the most stubborn may want to reconsider getting the vaccine as we are still in the thick of flu season.

It has falsely been reported that there is a flu vaccine shortage, but it has been correctly reported that you may have to search a little to find a location close to you with the vaccine. That is where this website comes in. It is really easy to use, you simply plug in your zip code, what vaccination you are looking for, and a mile radius that you are looking within. The radius ranges from 5 to 50 miles. If it is in stock, the location/address/service hours will pop up on your screen with a map. Each location also has a link to their website, phone number, and a link to Uber.

It is generally better to be safe than sorry, so if you are questioning whether it may be time to get the flu shot, you may want to check out the linked vaccination finder to see whether that is the best option for you.

Have you ever received a flu shot before? What have been the benefits/negatives from getting it?
